HERMON, Maine – The Brewer High School art department and Darling’s Ice Cream for a Cause on June 5 donated $556 to the Brewer Area Food Pantry, operated by OHI.

The school art department raised the money through The Empty Bowls Project, an international grassroots effort to fight hunger created by The Imagine Render Group. The high school art department created handcrafted bowls during the school year and invited guests to an ice cream social in May. In exchange for a cash donation, guests keep a bowl as a reminder of all the empty bowls in the world. In addition, the art department partnered with the Darling’s Ice Cream for a Cause during the May event.
