In addition, there is a med pass included maintaining the regulations set by The State of Maine. The med pass is done with the instructor, Cynthia Boyd, RN, or an RN at the students’ agency. If the agency’s RN is being used, this must be set up prior to the class.
8:30 am: Virtual Lecture by RN Instructor
Self-study with provided materials until 2pm.
2:00p: Final Exam.
Once the exam is completed, a MAR will be completed and sent to the instructor for review. If there are any issues with the MAR, it will be returned to the student for correction. The Training Coordinator will be available for any technical issues. The RN Instructor will be available for assistance and to answer exam content and MAR questions until 4:30pm.
Virtual med pass Aspect
The medication pass will last 30 to 60 minutes based on the students’ needs. If the student wishes, they may complete an actual med pass with a person supported With an agency RN. If not, they may complete a mock med pass. Whichever they choose, it will be observed via Facetime or Google Meet with the instructor, or with an RN at the student’s facility.
If an RN at the students’ agency is used for the medication pass, the student must have the Medication Checklist completed and signed by the RN. The student will also sign the form and return it along with a copy of the RN’s license to the RN instructor within 7 days of the class. The instructor will submit the information to the state. If the paperwork is not received within this timeframe, the student will not pass their recertification.
