24 Hour CRMA

$175.00THIS IS A THREE DAY CLASS. The dates are August 15, 16, 19 2019. OHI offers courses for people who want to become Certified Residential Medication Aides (CRMAs). Class size is maxed at 10 participants. Available slots shown are designated for non-OHI employees. The Certified Residential Medication Aide will be able to demonstrate the following:
- Legal and ethical responsibilities involved in the administration of medications to residents living in residential facilities for individuals with intellectual developmental disabilities in the state of Maine
- A basic knowledge of medications which includes drug categories, normal dosage range, and potential side effects
- Ability through written and oral classwork and supervised clinical experience in the facility, to administer non-injectable medications in a safe, proper, and accurate manner.
- Ability to understand required documentation procedures, report medication errors, use of common abbreviations, accountability for Controlled substances, and use of drug reference resource
- An understanding of infection control and universal/standard precautions.
Each participant must complete all homework/classwork assignments and participate in class. A completion of 80% or above on the final exam and successfully administer medications at least (3) times in a licensed home with the appropriate supervision {Registered Nurse or a CRMA who has a current certificate for at least a year}, and submit proof of this form of a correctly completed Clinical Task Sheet.
